5 Seconds, Miracle Mornings, and 100 Days.

Hello and welcome!  My name is Alexandra, a mother of two, wife of an amazing man, friend and auntie of many.

And I have embarked on a journey of change and growth. And now all I want to do is share it with you.  Yes, you. The person I may have never met in my life and most likely never will. You, the person who has walked this journey with me from day one.  You, who feel desperate and like you are trapped and are 2 seconds away from just giving up.

YOU can change your life.  I promise you it is all in your ability.  I know, I scoffed at it too.  And no, this isn't some "try this product!" blog.  But I AM going to share with you the amazingness that has come into my life.  So much of it was free, and none of the bought stuff is mandatory. I promise you.  Also, EVERY book mentioned I listened to multiple times on Audible. ($15 a month gets you any book a month to own forever, hell of a deal) but many are available on Scrib included in their $8/month fee as well.  And if you want to physically read the books, libraries have them too! There are no excuses!

I will be posting daily for 100 days.  Video clips of what I'm doing, What I've learned that day, Tips and Tricks, Insights, Highs and Lows, and anything fun that I come across!

Fair warning, This first blog post has so much I want to say and I am sure it will not be perfectly organized and is really just an explanation of the tools I have found that changed my life and are a huge part of this blog.

The 5 Second Rule
Miracle Morning
100Day Melt Down

and of course, Conscious Parent and Awakened Family without which, NONE of my personal growth would have occurred.

My name is Alexandra and I have embarked on a journey of change and growth.  I have closed my photography studio, embarked on a new life path, stopped hating myself, let go of raging anger I had seething below the surface for decades, started finding joy and gratitude everywhere, and utterly transforming my life.

How did it start?

Oddly enough, I think I can trace it back to a moment when I realized how badly I needed a tribe.  And MOPS entered my world and I found a group of women who reconnected me to my faith and vulnerability.  These women walked with me for 4 years as I faced my husband being gone all but 12 days out of a year due to work, and finally to our move that was the major catalyst for this amazing 180 that has occurred.

Yes I am a rambler. I swear to you as this blog goes on, I'll try to get better 😂

💕My best friend Jessica, my bossom friend, has to get the first credit.  For the hours of counsel, the advice, the examples, for witnessing me in my lowest and highest moments. Celebrating my victories in life and reminding me that failures didn't make me a bad person.  For telling me that she loved me over and over and over again.  For the endless cups of tea and glasses of wine, the ridiculous youtube paraody nights, Dr. Who, and for holding me when I had my break through moment that was horrifically painful and utterly life changing on her kitchen floor a few weeks ago

She was the one who told me I needed to find some mommy friends who had kids who were the same age as mine (18 months and 5 at the time).  She was the one who helped me get over my fear of judgement and join MOPS.

MOPS was, simply put, a start.  It reminded me that God was there, that I was not alone, and that growth was not a sign of weakness. It reminded me that I was wanted.  The pretty, the ugly, the hard, the goofy parts of me were wanted.

Out of MOPS came a deep friendship with Julie. (our sons call each other brother if that tells you how close our families have become).  You may never know how much you changed my life by stepping out of your comfort zone to ask me to go to Chick Fil A with you for a cup of coffee.

From Julie came Kelly Hutcheson.  This woman is about 70% at least of everything I am doing now. Heck probably more!  She runs a peaceful conscious parenting bootcamp for free every month on FB and that was the most impactful thing I have done because of where it led!  If you're interested, click her name.  I swear to you, you will never regret having partcipated.

From Kelly came Dr. Shefali.  This woman.  This Dr.  This gift in the universe.  She has utterly changed my entire world. Her first book The Conscious Parent was a huge massive eye opener.  See Conscious parenting has almost nothing to do with your kids.  It has to do with YOU.  And when you dive into the psychology aspect and really listen and apply her wisdom do you know what happens? Not only do your kids start becoming more confident and easy going and listening better.... YOU HEAL.  OMFG do you heal.  And grow.  YOU become peaceful, you learn to embrace the hard stuff, and it is utterly life changing.

Enter her second book The Awakened Family this is what made the biggest impact.  I cannot tell you the amazing healing and peace this has brought not just to me but my entire family.  I am finally myself again after YEARS of being trapped in a deep current of despair and sorrow and anger that was always under the surface (I may share this past in a later post, we will see)   I was finally ready to really delve deep, take responsibility for my reality, and accept exactly who I am and be at peace with all of it.

Let's go back to Kelly and another life coach she brought into my life.  Mel Robbins.  The author of The 5 Second RuleIF YOU ARE STRUGGLING IN ANY AREA OF YOUR LIFE LISTEN TO THIS!!!!
This book is what this blog is named for.  Because all the above impact on my life are even more so once I started applying it.  The next post will be more in depth!

Oh, and let's go back to Kelly and Julie one more time.  Enter Hal Elrod and The Miracle Morning

Heck while we are at it I might as well add that Marie Kondo and in particular her book Spark Joy
Talk about life shift!  HOLY COW!

And last but not least, Let's talk about the 100.
100 Morning Meltdown
100 days of committing to yourself and your health.
100 days of working out with no excuses
100 different work outs
over 1,000,000 people doing it with you.

I am so in need of it. Again, another post will delve into all of it! I am doing several right away so that you can click away to understand what each technique I'm using is and how to apply it.
